Hispanic American Civil Rights Post # 6

List of individuals that affected the civil rights of Hispanics are:

1. Janet Murguía (President and CEO of The National Council de La Raza (NCLR))
2. Margaret Moran (National president of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC))
3. Thomas B. Reston (Chairman of the Board of Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF))

The work of Janet Murguía is important to the Hispanic American civil rights story because she is the president of the NCLR. Her main priority is to make the 50 million Hispanics’ power improve so they can have better lives and more rights. She want the voice of Latinos to be heard on issues affecting the Hispanic society. One question that I would ask her is: What made her do this job? I would ask her this question because she is doing something really great to help the society and i want to know how she started this organization. If she was in the book Return to Sender she would have been very helpful. I say this because in the book, Mari and her family wanted to be heard in the society. One of Janet's goals was to help Hispanics in America be heard.
